Service Resource Kit for Ministers and Celebrants
| "Loving and Remembering" - a service for pregnancy loss
|
You
may wish to arrange a private service to
remember your child lost during pregnancy.
Or you may be a member of the clergy or
celebrant who wishes to provide this service
to your community.
Pregnancy related grief is under-acknowledged
in society, especially if it is connected
with a very early loss which no-one else
can 'see', such as miscarriage, ectopic
pregnancy and IVF losses. Abortion related
grief may be further complicated by the
circumstances surrounding the event and
perceptions of guilt and shame.
What should a minister or celebrant bear
in mind? How should such a service be designed?
The Remembrance Service Resource Kit is
available to help you prepare and conduct
a service for pregnancy loss. It is based
on the order of service created for the
"Loving and Remembering" services
arranged by Open Doors and includes:
· background notes for the minister
or celebrant on understanding and responding
to pregnancy related grief
· preparing for the service
· conducting the service
· practical aspects
· master copy of order of service
· song/music suggestions
· after the service
Remembrance
Service Resource Kits can be ordered via
the catalogue at a cost of $27.50 (includes
GST and postage).
